Just realized that the other man with his arms crossed is behind another man with a white shirt and tie. My Dad is the one with a smile on his face. He had that smile until the day he died. People used to comment about it. Gwen
I was especially interested in reading about Harold Parker Forest, as my father, Howard Alexander Young, was stationed there in the CCCs. I was really excited to see the picture of the young men in the picture. I picked out my Dad right away. He is behind the man in the white shirt. Looks like he has his arms crossed and has curly brown hair. Gwendolen Young Devoe
That's a neat connection to Harold Parker! I see him in the picture. Did he talk to you at all about his experience there? The CCC took a lot of photographs of their work, some of which can be found in the link to Digital Commonwealth I added at the bottom of this article. Of course, the picture with your dad is from the ACHC.
Hi Floyd, I will be writing a write up of some of the things my Dad told me and my sibling to Elaine Clements. I just wrote to some of my siblings and asked that they send me some stories. Gwen
Yes, he talked quite a bit about his time with the CCCs. I have pictures of the time he was there, which, at some point, I will go through and donate. He met my mother, who lived on Salem Street, while walking to town one day.
Hi Gwendolen, we'd love to hear more about your family's connection to the CCC. Please give us a call or drop me an email eclements@andoverhistoryandculture.org. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment!
Hi Elaine, I will send you an e-mail at some point. I need to go through the album that I have to refresh my memory. I can also get some input from my siblings as well. Gwen

Thanks, Gwen! Looking forward to hearing what you and your siblings have to say.
